Not every weekend away needs a campsite, a packed vehicle, or an early start. This one was deliberately simpler: a quiet indoor stay at Abbots Hill Farm, with no kids and nowhere we needed to be.
We arrived on Friday afternoon, settled in, and let the farm do what it does best: make the pace of everything else feel less important.

No Itinerary Needed
Saturday was for taking things slowly. Long mornings, good food, and time indoors without a plan competing for attention. It was a proper break from the usual routine rather than an expedition to squeeze into a weekend.

As the day moved along, there was still plenty to look at and enjoy, but no need to make an event of it. Just a little space, a comfortable place to stay, and the kind of conversation that only happens when the clock has stopped mattering.

A Proper Reset
The evenings stayed just as unhurried: staying in, relaxing, and enjoying not having to set up or pack down a campsite. It was a different kind of overland weekend, but exactly the right one for the moment.

By Sunday morning, it was time to head home. No dramatic route, no recovery stories, no camping checklist. Just a genuinely restful weekend away, and a reminder that sometimes slowing down is the whole point.
