Fynbos Guest Farm - October 2022

Wolseley, Western Cape, South Africa

Fynbos Guest Farm in Wolseley was the next stop on our midweek work-from-camp run. Set beneath the Witzenberg mountains, the farm gave us a quiet base where we could keep the work day moving, then step straight into the outdoors once the laptops were packed away.

Camp Beneath the Trees

We set up the Prado and rooftop tent on a shaded site, surrounded by mature trees and the easy-going farm atmosphere. With power at the site, clean ablutions close by, and a braai ready for the evening, it was a practical camp for settling in for more than just one night.

The small campsite has only a handful of sites, which helped keep the stay relaxed. The farm’s plunge pool was a welcome break during the warmer parts of the day, while the big trees gave the camp a sense of privacy and plenty of shade.

A Farm With More to Explore

Fynbos Guest Farm is also an animal sanctuary, and the rescued animals are part of what makes the place memorable. There are farm walks through fynbos and renosterbos, and the surrounding mountains make even a short wander feel like a proper change of scenery.

Between work sessions, we took time to walk around the property, visit the farmstall, and enjoy the views. It was a simple rhythm: work when needed, explore when there was time, then return to camp for the evening.

A Midweek Base in Wolseley

Fynbos Guest Farm proved that a work week does not have to mean staying in the same place. It offered enough comfort to keep the practical side of camp easy, but still felt like a genuine escape into the mountains and countryside around Wolseley.
